GoPro has its own Big Game message: "Let's go!"
The camera maker known for filming extreme sports and hobbies plans to run a regional Super Bowl ad this weekend (for the second year in a row) with a 30-second spot set to the Ramones' infectious hit "Blitzkrieg Bop," better known for its rallying cry "hey ho, let's go." The ad features activities arguably more extreme than tackle football—snow boarding, rock climbing and bear hugging.
A brand representative said the ad will air in Chicago, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle. The commercial was made with footage from GoPro users, whom we see skiing, sliding, swimming and more.
"Marketing teams work tirelessly to create something that will grab the attention of the Super Bowl viewers. Thanks to you, GoPro doesn't have to do that," the statement said. "Every day, GoPro users create and share content that inspires us. No think tank needed. You create the most dynamic, engaging content out there. We are just excited to show it to everyone.
"Plus the Ramones. Because everything is better with the Ramones."
