It remains to be seen how many advertisers will release their Super Bowl ads early this year, in whole or in part. But last year—the Year of the Teaser when it came to Super Bowl spots—giving a sneak peek paid off handsomely for many advertisers.
That's one takeaway from Unruly Media's new infographic, posted below, about the social reach of Super Bowl spots. The top four most-shared spots from 2012 all had teasers, Unruly reports, and three-quarters of the top 20 rolled out online before game day.
Another interesting finding notes that 55 percent of total online shares of Super Bowl commercials last year happened after March 1—showing how these ads keeping on giving throughout the year.
Unruly has also released a new Super Bowl Social Video Playbook, free to download, advising advertisers when to launch their videos in the lead-up to Super Sunday.
